Ordered this to replace a 2 year old version of the same model. Excellent coffeemaker. In addition to good coffee the unit is unique in that one can fill the water reservoir and coffee basket without having to pull the unit out from under an upper cabinet. Nearly all other coffeemakers have such large lids that it is impossible to open the water reservoir while the unit is under a cabinet. With this unit the coffee basket rotates out from the coffeemaker bringing the basket closer for filling both coffee and water.

We love the design and will purchase another one after this wears out.

We originally wanted the DCF212T, but the machine was too big and unattractive. The 2212T is almost identical, just more narrow and conventional. The carafe is not as nice, the top of it is completely plastic but functions just as well. It works just as advertised, we experienced no problem with the electronics or leaking as has been suggested by other consumers. It makes a superior cup of coffee and the aroma button is a great feature. If you grind your beans very fine like we do, the aroma feature ensures no spill over since it gently showers the grinds. This machine was a great value and performs excellently. We really like the front access drawer, a feature of both models. This makes the prep go much faster since water and coffee are both loaded quickly and easily in the double sided receptacle. The permanent filter and drip cup are designed well and are a welcome change from the cone cup and paper filter of our last machine. The top of the machine is a cup warmer, a unique feature we’ve not had in previous machines. As past owners of Bunn, Krups, Mr. Coffee and others, we’re sold on DeLonghi. We would recommend either model to anyone looking to replace their coffee maker.

I had some serious reservations about buying this coffee maker based on the previous reviews that I’ve read, so I decided to buy it directly from Amazon (for the return policy) and test it myself. Here’s the results: The coffee gets plenty hot (160 degrees on Aroma mode & 165 degrees off Aroma mode), the coffee brews plenty quick off Aroma mode (11 minutes), but is slow on Aroma mode (25 minutes), and, lastly, I found absolutely no difference in the taste or kitchen “aroma” when I put the Aroma mode on.

In general, I would not recommend using the Aroma mode at all, not really sure why they have it cause its not very useful. However, the coffee maker works great, fits very nicely under my cabinet, is easy to fill, and has a great little price tag for the product that you get!

I love the fact the I do not need to move it out from under the cabinets to put the water and coffee in. The mechanisim that holds the coffee & water pulls out from the front. It looks great and brews great.

Coffee Maker is #1 for a few reasons – ease of use – with everything up front you can keep it on top of the counter under a cupboard or your machine. The steam goes out rather than up, so moisture will not destroy your cupboard.

Easy to make good coffee – handle pulls out compartment easily – put in universal filter in obvious hole. Next fill the water container and pour in the ample trench next to filter holder.

Next move is also obvious – you can press the auto/on button and sit and relax or you can set the timer. Be sure to set your clock when you get it.

It is easy to clean – just wipe it up. You’ll be surprised at the quality of material and workmanship. This is a real deal. We like the 12 cup capacity on occasion.

Absolutely love the design of this coffee pot and the coffee tastes great. I found that it is more accurate to measure your water in the pot before filling. The clock should be lit but that doesn’t bother me because I don’t use the timer. All in all, this has been the best I’ve ever owned. I’ve had it a few months now and will replace it with the same in the future!
